I’ve been working on this myself for quite some time, in all different areas of life, and I’ve seen major improvements in my life as a result. So, I absolutely believe in self growth and in its power to transform your life.

And, that’s why I’m sharing this information with you today. So …

Here are 6 tips for how to improve yourself everyday:

  • Make time for yourself & find joy each day.
  • Do something for your health every day, like exercise.
  • Practice mindfulness, & perhaps even meditation, daily.
  • Get out & connect with others & nature every day.
  • Set a goal for yourself each day, even if it’s small.
  • Track your progress & plans daily (& monthly/quarterly).

If you use these self growth tips to work on yourself daily, you can better yourself and improve your life. So, let’s go over each of these a little more!

How to improve yourself everyday through me-time & finding joy

First, let’s talk about how to improve yourself everyday by making time for yourself and finding joy.

This is one of the best ways to better yourself, because as you spend time with YOU you get to know yourself, what you like, what you want, and what brings you joy!

And, all of that is important. Trust me, I spent many years trying to find people that would make me feel better, feel happier, feel more complete, and be able to have the kind of life I wanted.

I, without realizing it, thought that if I found the right person we’d share the kind of life together that would make me feel great. But, I can now tell you that this isn’t how that works.

That’s why I was so miserable with those people! 

You must first spend time with yourself, learn about yourself, work on yourself, and find that feeling that you want from within. The joy and completeness that you might crave, as I did, must come from within to be real and lasting.

So, this is why I include spending time with yourself and finding joy on this list. 

Before spending a lot of time trying to make other people happy so that you can be happy, find out what truly makes YOU happy.

Before spending a lot of time getting to know other people, spend a lot of time getting to know yourself and work on valuing yourself – you’re worth it!

Here are some ideas:

  • Schedule in some time each day to do something that brings you joy, like taking a walk in nature, reading a book, listening to music, or relaxing/meditating. 
  • Journal, meditate, or spend quiet time alone that allows you to work through things, heal, and know exactly what you want for yourself.
  • If you believe in it, spend quiet time connecting to your higher source (God, Universe, Angels, Spirit team) & listen for higher knowledge & understanding.

These small changes can really help you improve yourself a little each day. They sure helped me!

Transform your life by doing something for your health every day

Now, let’s talk about how you can transform your life by doing something for your health each day.

There are different ways to improve yourself everyday when it comes to your health. 

For one, you can make sure you get enough sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours a night, and try to have a consistent sleep schedule. 

Also, try to eat a balanced diet with a variety of foods, including plenty of fruits and vegetables that’ll give you the nutrients you need to stay healthy. 

Exercise is also important, so try to have some form of physical activity in your daily routine to keep your body fit and strong. 

And finally, make sure you take time for relaxation and to stay centered and balanced. You can try meditation, yoga, music, or simple quiet time.

These things can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and improve your health overall, and improving all of that will improve your life. So, don’t forget about your health!

Work on yourself by practicing mindfulness & meditation daily

Next, let’s talk about how to improve yourself everyday through mindfulness and meditation.

This is a great way to work on yourself, and it’ll definitely add to your life in a good way! So, if you aren’t doing it yet I highly recommend it.

You’ll become more aware of yourself, your thoughts and feelings, and of how things affect you. But, more importantly you’ll become more in control of all of this.

So, here’s a little about these techniques …

In case you didn’t know, mindfulness is about being aware of your thoughts and feelings and being in the present moment. And, meditation is about focusing your attention and calming the mind. 

Both of these can be powerful tools for reducing any stress and anxiety you might have, improving your concentration, and increasing your clarity and focus. 

Here’s a set of tips to get you started (but there are many ways to be mindful & meditate):

  • Each day, try sitting in a comfortable position and then focus on your breath for a few minutes. 
  • During this, notice the thoughts and feelings that come up and observe them (without judgment). 
  • Next, gently bring your attention back to your breath and try to stay relaxed.
  • And finally, keep practicing this regularly so that you’ll become more aware of your own thoughts and feelings and be able to manage them better.

If you begin practicing mindfulness and meditation, you’ll gain control over any negative thoughts you might be having, become calmer, and feel more balanced. So, give it a try!

Better yourself by getting out & connecting with others & nature

Well, we’re halfway through these self growth tips. Whoohoo!

So now, let’s talk about how you can better yourself by getting out and connecting with others and nature. 

It might sound simple and unimportant, but I can tell you from experience that it matters enough to be mentioned here.

You can do this by taking a walk in nature, engaging in a group activity, or simply grounding yourself by putting your bare feet on the ground in your backyard. (I do that last one!)

Connecting with nature & others is one of the best ways to improve yourself each day, because:

  • It helps you gain a better understanding of your connection to nature & the Universe, and therefore of yourself, as you feel more connected to it.
  • Spending time outdoors is therapeutic, as it helps decrease stress and improve overall mental and physical health.
  • Spending time in nature is calming & will help you connect easier to your higher Source (which is great for self growth & spiritual growth).
  • As you get outdoors & connect, you’ll share experiences, thoughts, & feelings with others – and this will help your growth as you learn from it all!

So if you aren’t doing it already, make an effort to get out and connect with others and nature every day. You might be surprised by how much better you feel and how much it improves your life!

Improve your life by setting a goal each day, even if it’s small

If you’re wanting to know how to improve yourself everyday, we can’t leave out setting a daily goal.

It’s a great way to improve your life, and it doesn’t even have to be a big goal – small daily goals can make a difference. They add up, plus they make you feel good!

So start thinking of small goals you can accomplish each day, whether it’s learning something new, doing some kind of exercise for a few minutes, or something that’s just a smaller part of a bigger goal. 

Then, set aside time each day for that goal and make it a priority.

And, one thing that might help is to break your goal down into smaller, more achievable tasks. This will help you stay motivated and make steady progress towards your goals, without getting overwhelmed. 

But, don’t forget to reward yourself for your efforts and to celebrate your achievements. It’s important for your motivation, and you deserve it!

Self growth tips for tracking your progress & plans daily

Now, the last of these self growth tips is about tracking your progress and plans.

If you do this daily, and perhaps even monthly and quarterly (four times a year), you’re sure to improve yourself and your life.

Tracking your progress and plans will help you stay on track with your goals, plans, and habits and stay motivated, so it’s definitely worth doing. You’ll end up accomplishing more of what you want to do and bringing into your life more of what you want – so you’ll be happier and more fulfilled!

You might try to use a calendar, notebook, or spreadsheet to track your progress. I have a bullet journal, google calendars, and google sheets that I use at different times for different things.

You can even set reminders on your phone or computer to check in and keep up with everything (this is so helpful!). 

Make sure to use what works best for YOU. Everyone is different. You might just want to use a simple journal to jot down your plans, and then review it regularly. 

It can help to do your overall year or quarterly year, and then break it down into smaller monthly and weekly goals. Of course then you’ll probably also have your daily list of a few things you want to accomplish (that’ll help you with your weekly goals).

This may all sound tedious or like a lot of work, but planning and being organized can save you time and energy in the long run. So if you aren’t already, give it a try!

(And as I said before, don’t forget to celebrate reaching milestones toward your goals or reaching your overall goals! This shows you’re proud of yourself and that it matters, and it gives you motivation to keep going.)
